Business bank accounts for travel companies

Need an account for your travel agency or tour business? Get a free Xavion review for booking settlements, overseas suppliers and multi-currency banking.

Booking revenue may arrive months before a trip while hotels, carriers and destination partners require payments in different currencies. Xavion helps travel companies assess a business account for that operating flow. Request a free consultation with the company country, owners’ residence, booking model, customer markets and supplier-payment needs. We point you toward a suitable institution and distinguish banking from the card-processing and customer-protection arrangements your business may also require.

Xavion provides account-placement assistance, not the banking, custody or payment service itself. The account-holding institution reviews the business and confirms its products and terms. International founders can enquire from Europe, Southeast Asia or the UAE; residence, incorporation and operating markets are assessed separately. An initial enquiry is not approval and does not require confidential identification documents.

Short answer

Is this a travel merchant account?

No. This page concerns operating business banking, currency balances and payments. Card acquiring, payment gateways and processor reserves are separate requirements. Tell us if you need both so they can be reviewed without conflating the products.

  • Can a travel company pay overseas hotels and agents: We can assess international supplier-payment routes with the currencies, destinations and beneficiary types specified. The institution confirms coverage and transfer conditions.
  • Does a new account protect advance booking money: Not by itself. The legal owner of receipts and the applicable customer-protection requirements determine the arrangement.
  • What does Xavion need for the free consultation: Describe the company country, owners’ residence, agency or operator role, booking receipts, refund exposure and supplier payments. We point you toward a suitable institution.

Explain who sells the trip and who owns the receipts

An agency arranging a booking, a tour operator selling a package and a travel marketplace collecting for suppliers are different account profiles. Identify the contracting party, merchant of record and legal owner of receipts at each stage. Show whether the company receives commissions, the full booking value or settlement from a processor.

Customer money awaiting travel or onward payment may have contractual or regulatory protection requirements. An operating account does not establish trust, escrow, insolvency protection or compliance with package-travel rules. Your legal adviser should identify the applicable obligations for the markets served, then the account arrangement can be assessed against those requirements.

Plan multi-currency supplier payments around booking obligations

Map revenue currencies against hotel, airline, ground-handler and destination-partner invoices. A suitable arrangement may support USD, EUR and GBP local routes plus SWIFT and international payouts, with the exact destinations and recipient types confirmed. Explain deposits, final balances, cancellations and refund timing.

An account with broad currency-payout coverage can be useful, but does not guarantee that every hotel, carrier or country can be paid. Confirm beneficiary details, conversion terms, cut-off times, transfer limits and intermediary charges. Keep a clear record linking each supplier transfer to its commercial booking or contract, especially where payments go through a local agent.

Keep business banking distinct from merchant acquiring

A business account receives settlements and supports treasury and supplier payments. Merchant acquiring enables card acceptance and can involve rolling reserves, dispute monitoring and delivery-risk assessments. Opening one does not automatically solve the other. If your processor holds a reserve, the account cannot require that reserve to be released.

Travel delivery delays matter to the cash-flow explanation. Show how the business covers supplier payments and refunds before services are delivered, including seasonal peaks and cancelled trips. Where customers pay in crypto, separately describe the asset, payer and conversion path; approval for ordinary booking receipts does not automatically approve crypto transfers.

Prepare the travel-account file and ask for a free review

Send the company and ownership countries, trading website, business role, destinations, expected monthly receipts and supplier-payment map. Relevant evidence can include booking terms, supplier contracts, processing statements, cancellation policy, financial statements and any required authorisation or financial-protection arrangements. Explain existing closures and unresolved refund liabilities.

We assess the account purpose and identify a suitable institution rather than recommending a new application with the same unexplained flow. Product coverage, account protection, fees and timing are confirmed individually. Start with a short summary, not identification attachments. The free consultation is separate from any paid placement engagement and does not promise that every travel company will be accepted.

Can a travel company pay overseas hotels and agents?
We can assess international supplier-payment routes with the currencies, destinations and beneficiary types specified. The institution confirms coverage and transfer conditions. Broad payout coverage does not mean every booking or destination is supported.
Does a new account protect advance booking money?
Not by itself. The legal owner of receipts and the applicable customer-protection requirements determine the arrangement. Trust, escrow and other protected customer-money structures must be explicitly assessed, not assumed from an operating account.
What does Xavion need for the free consultation?
