Identify the legal account holder and people behind the trust
A trust’s legal form determines whether the account is opened in the trustee’s name, a specified trust capacity or another authorised entity. Identify settlors, trustees, protectors, beneficiaries and any other person with relevant control. Explain corporate trustees and underlying holding companies with a complete ownership and control chart.
The trust deed, amendments and trustee powers matter to onboarding. A beneficial-owner form designed for a company may not capture all the relevant trust parties. Confirm signing authority, resolutions and the institution’s documentation requirements. A trustee’s residence, the governing law and beneficiary locations are different facts and should all be stated clearly.
